One-time Donation

Your donation empowers dedicated Child Advocates of Contra Costa County volunteers to advocate for children in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, ensuring they have a voice in court, access to essential resources, and a caring adult by their side. In addition, your contribution helps us provide vital support services and tools to make a lasting difference with the youth we serve.

Please give. One person can help our children truly succeed.

Join as a Monthly Changemaker Donor

All gifts, big and small, make a tremendous impact on the lives of the children and youth we serve. Monthly gifts, however, make a special, positive impact on the work we do by allowing us to more effectively predict cash flow and plan ahead. That, in turn, enables us to support children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, ensuring they feel valued and heard. And that’s what makes a Changemaker.

Changemakers is a passionate community of monthly givers dedicated to improving the lives of abused and neglected children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems by making monthly gifts rather than a single annual gift.  Changemakers make a huge impact.

Thank you for joining our monthly giving community and increasing the wonderful impact you’re already making by becoming a Changemaker. Child Advocates of Contra Costa County depends on the generosity of individuals who contribute gifts that enable us to assist numerous youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems in Contra Costa County and across the state, as well as those who have transitioned out.

Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.

Donor-advised funds can easily be set up through a community foundation or your financial institution.
If you already have a donor-advised fund, you can recommend grants to support Child Advocates of Contra Costa County through our box below.

Why a DAF could be right for you:

  • DAFs allow you to donate cash, stock, cryptocurrency, and other assets as charitable gifts over several years.
  • DAFs provide a flexible and easy method of giving if you support multiple charities.
  • DAFs can be used to complement or replace a private foundation.
  • As with all gift planning, you should consult your financial adviser and lawyer to help you get started with recommending a grant to Child Advocates of Contra Costa County. Your donor-advised fund gift will help youth in foster care navigate the road to a better life.

Donating Stock or Assets from Your Mutual Funds

Are you interested in making a charitable gift that may yield double tax benefits and additional savings? If so, a gift of appreciated stock may be the right option for you.

A gift of stock or assets from your mutual funds may provide more benefits than a cash gift. When you make a gift of stock to Child Advocates of Contra Costa County, by eliminating the capital gains tax that would be due upon selling the stock, you receive tangible tax savings and benefits while also supporting our children and youth in foster care.

A gift of stock may be right for you if:

    1. You are holding stocks that have risen in value. If your stocks are highly appreciated, you may find yourself with a hefty tax bill when it comes time to sell. By using these securities as a gift, you can avoid the capital gains tax on any paper profit.
    2. You would like to maximize your deduction without affecting your liquidity. If you decide to make a gift of stock, you not only retain your cash assets, but you could also receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock that you’ve owned for more than one year.

We have partnered with Life Legacy to provide more information and assist you with your stock or mutual fund donation. Click the button below for more information and assistance on making a gift of stock.

Cryptocurrency Donations

Similar to donating stocks or other assets, donating cryptocurrency directly to charity can save you on your capital gains tax, and you can receive a federal income tax deduction for the full value of your cryptocurrency.
